Step-by-step: how to cancel

Step 1 — Gather your documents. You'll want your contract/agreement, the vehicle VIN, your account or loan number, and proof of any triggering event (payoff letter, refinance confirmation, trade-in paperwork, or total-loss settlement).

Step 2 — Complete the cancellation request form. Portfolio processes cancellations via a written request/form. Request it from customer service or by calling (800) 705-4001. Include the required documentation or the request won't be processed.
